The opening night for the 3 Inch Canvas went very well, thank you. We are now open daily between 12:00 and 20:00 until Saturday, September 4. Spot the poster to find the way!
There is actually a highly interesting concentration of exhibitions within just a few meters of the 3 Inch Canvas exhibition. Take the opportunity and check them all out!
In Aleksanterinkatu, just next to the entrance to the 3 Inch Canvas exhibition, the city museum of Helsinki is putting on an exhibition called “The night” (“Yö” in Finnish). It tells a vivid story about the nights of Helsinki. Open Wednesday thru Sunday 11-17 and Thursdays until 19.
When you enter the inner yard on your way to our exhibition, on the right there is an exhibition called “Illusion 2010“. This exhibition is being put on by the The Union of Finnish Scenographers and shows visual design done for theaters in Finland during 2009.
If you turn the corner and walk some 30 meters into Katariinankatu, you will find the next exhibition, a photo exhibition by Charlotta Boucht. The photo exhibition shows the (lost) glory of Istanbul and Terijoki (which used to be part of Finland but now belongs to Russia). The exhitition is even shorter than ours, it ends already on Friday, September 3!
Finally, you have the huge installation of bears in the Senate Square. This exhibition features 142 bears that speak about tolerance. The bears have travelled the world since 2004 and are part of the United Buddy Bears project. Open 24/7 until the October 26.
So get out of your house and check out some interesting exhibitions in the heart of Helsinki!
